The Two Mississippi Museums, home to The Mississippi Museum of History and the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum, is a place where Mississippians tell their own stories of the state’s rich and complex history. These stories are told through the many resources from the collection of the Department of Archives and History (where Susanna's mom is Director). It presents the history of Mississippi like never before with eye-popping artifacts, photographs, videos, and interactive exhibits. Mississippi’s largest art museum has over 4,000 works, including the world’s largest collection by and relating to Mississippians and their diverse heritage. Many works can be seen in the permanent collection, New Symphony of Time.

They specialize in signed first editions, and the First Editions Club has been going strong for over 25 years. They carry a wide range of genres, but they pride themselves on their rich selection of literary fiction, especially Southern writers.
Fertile Ground Brewery is a taproom-focused brewery in the heart of the historic Belhaven neighborhood where Susanna grew up. Four core beers are always on tap along with seasonal rotations of varied styles.
Medgar Evers, the first NAACP field secretary and prominent civil rights activist and organizer, was assassinated at his home in 1963. This private home – now a National Historic Landmark – has been turned into a museum and restored to look as it did when the Evers family lived there.
Museum Trail is a multi-use trail and greenway connecting communities and providing access to recreation areas, local culture and history, public art, and nature. The trail connects the Mississippi Farmers Market, Greater Belhaven, and LeFleur Museum District including The Mississippi Children’s Museum and The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. If you're lucky, you may run into the Blount family dogs, Archie and Fred, who are among the trail's biggest fans.
